Looking for faulty/broken mainly amplifiers but will consider other things, anything any condition considered, fair but not silly prices paid.

I'm doing this to keep me busy and possibly make some money, you may see these on sale in the usual places when I've finished with them so only offer if you're OK with this.

I don't know, the side sections (amplifier modules) bolt onto the centre casing. I can't see anything inside the case.

It will require someone who knows how the things come apart and so on.

Maybe the mods will back me up here but as this is a thread started by myself any equipment offered on the thread should by my understanding be mine to accept of turn down before anyone else makes offers on the equipment, seems a bit underhanded to pm someone who's offered myself something essentially taking me out of the equation when it's my thread it's been offered on.

I have an Tram mk. II OTL preamp which just sits at a Shelf.

It is by far the best preamp I`ve ever had (including my current Pass XP-10).

It blew up after a week of operation, and repair is way out of my league. It was (Claimed) repaired by a Colleague at work, but even adjusting the damm thing is beyond my abilities..

In short: I have given up on the damm thing..

It is in Denmark and without tubes.

.... have one of these much praised DACs be-loved of modders --- it's 'temperamental' .... you can have it to look at and if you think it can be fixed and/or improved we can then discuss costs ...... I have it's 'elder brother' the Teradak Chameleon already ---- but a good valeb NOS is a lovely bit of gear for very little money IMHO

I know he would rather re-sell fixed stuff, but I asked him to look at my Kenwood KD-750 that had died.
He got it fixed, and it's working perfectly with several replaced components at modest cost.

I have a lesser known amp - an Arion Adonis that has a faulty right channel and I was abroad when it died. I had someone look at it abroad and it was back in action for a few months. Then it went out again on the same channel, I came back to UK and being scared as hell of mains I have never looked at it. It is in a box in storage so can have a look and take pics if you are interested in it. I'd like to sell it for parts/repair if possible.

It's the same as the amp in this thread...bulit like a tank, even the control knobs are solid metal. A friend built it for me from a kit of parts that the company sold off when they were winding up their business.

i have these if your interested..

tandberg 330
cd player skips, unless you lift the front up about 6" then it works perfect,,strange, also the case is quite badly scratched on top. the onkyo AV just goes into standby and the cassette player works fine except when you record it has some slight distortion, on the right channel iirc. these all had the faults when i got them so i have no history on them..

Myriad MXA2000 preamp (not working, boxed)
Talk electronics Breeze 1/whirlwind .5 phono stage (intermittent - keeps blowing supply fuses unpredictably)

They are in good condition but the Myriad stuff is seriously pricey to get repaired. I'll add photos as soon as possible.

I acquired this as non-working as it was going to be thrown out and I was hoping to fix this myself to give to my brother-in-law. There's quite a lot to read about these amps on the interweb and seem worth fixing. ( I used to have the KI version)

It powers on briefly but then the LED dims as the capacitors drain. There's no click from the relay so the protection circuit (?) doesn't engage. I changed a few resistors that looked like they had been getting hot, but I suspect that was caused by the transistors. I tested a few of them but they seemed OK, I haven't tested those on the heat-sink yet

But that's about the extent of my ability. Please let me know if its of interest to you.

I have a rather tired looking MF Elektra E100 integrated which lost one channel about 15 years ago and never got fixed. I thought it was up in the attic, turns out it was in the garage. Cosmetically not the best, although getting it working may not be a big issue for someone with the necessary skills.

Cost me £600 in 1996, you can have it for the princely sum of nowt if you can make use of it.

Hi Chris, I've a Sony TA-FE330R integrated amp if your interested.


The amp is my son's (think I bought it on here for him a few years ago) anyway he said that it wasn't sounding quite right, apparently the bass was missing so he bought another amp but I've tested all of the inputs including the phono stage and it sound perfectly okay to my ears, it's in decent cosmetic condition with one scratch on the top at the front of the amp and some light scratches on the sides.

I suspect that he had a poor connection somewhere as he's using the same source and speakers with the new amp with no problems.

The amp is black there's no remote .
