Hi everyone,

I'm Mark and from Sheffield.

I have just started to get back into music after a long time away from it (approx 20 years),
my music interests are wide and varied, from Heavy Metal, Ennio Morricone, Goblin, Yes,
I also love film scores but especially horror and western.

My current kit which im very proud/delighted/happy with is as follows

Bel Canto CD2 + VBL1 power supply
Leema Acoustics Elements DAC/Pre
2x Leema Acoustics power amps in bridged mono
Audio Physic Sitara speakers
Isotek GII Mini Sub mains conditioner, Russ Andrews power cables.
Chord Epic digital interconnect (trying out a Coherent 4D digital interconnect soon)
Coherent 3D XLR analogue interconnect
Chord signature speaker cable

oh and a marantz UD7007 for DVD-A

I'm looking forward to being part of the community.

thanks Mark

Hello Mark. Welcome to AOS.

That's an interesting selection of equipment you have there.

Tell us if you have any further plans for your system.

Feel free to join in the chat here, the members are friendly.

Enjoy the forum,

I went to Sheffield University, twas in the early 70's though!

Sheffield had a couple of cabinet makers than made quality speaker cabinets for people like B&W, Mordaunt Short etc. Stevenson Blake was one of them.

Just remembered, Greaves was the other.

Thanks for the welcome Geoff,
Out of interest why do you say its interesting ?.
Only plans i have for the system so far is to demo the Coherent 4D digital cable which arrived today - (Thank you Tony from Coherent Systems)
And possibly try some granate plinths under the speakers, as they are currently on spikes onto a wooden 1st floor so it has a void beneeth it.

Hi Alex I was only an ankle biter in the 70's.

A lot of things were made and manufactured in Sheffield but didnt know about the speaker cabinets.
I will have to have a look through some of the old town centre maps with manufactures listed see if they are there.

A good friend of mine lives in Sheffield, he's really into speakers, makes and modifies them as a hobby. He's near Hunter's Bar.
