Remton LCR MK2 tube phonostage with some upgrades
UK retail is at £3250 (pre any upgrade work)
Selling this unit £2000 + post
Alexander at Remton added a new RIAA/output board with the below upgrades:
• New tube sockets – gold plated and no tin cans that can induce noise
• Output capacitors now ClarityCap ESA (instead of the original Solen)
• 0.0047uF caps now SCR Teflon Tin Foil types
• Internal input and output wiring is a solid core silver type which is PTFE wrapped and shielded with a drain wire – made by DH-Labs
• Then measure and test (NB for the passive LCR network)
Prior to this work being done I had added a gold plated Furutech IEC input as well as:
• 4 x HiFi-Tuning Classic Gold fuses
• A little chassis dampening with Sound Coat (as well as a little to the coil covers to remove resonance)
Tube compliment:
• New set of JJ gold pin E88CC matched and balance in the RIAA stage (important for these to be both matched and balanced). These have Herbies tube dampeners included.
• Output tubes are ultra rare and costly Pearl Cryo Gold Grade (extremely low noise) GE 12AT7’s – matched.
The original feet had a neoprene rubber insert that had a hard time staying in place. I have since added FoculPods secured to the aluminium feet.
