We are working on a new book called - David Bowie - I Was There - and we are looking for fans memories of seeing David live in concert.

If you did, please tell us about it here or email jnc2707@gmail.com

We need as much info as possible, date, where, how old you were and anything else you can tell us about the show!

It can be 50 words or 2,000!

Thanks for your help.

I saw him twice
first time at the Rainbow - Ziggy and the Spiders, where Roxy Music blew them off the Planet.
DB was what I suspected - all style & no substance.
Next time was a year or so later in BC @ the PNE in Van. He was less than inspiring.
In a forty odd year career he made about two decent albums of music. And I think that is being generous.

A long time ago July 1972, while visiting a girlfriend in Weston super Mare managed to arrange tickets. Unlike the previous post it was a great night with Bowie and the band in great form.

I saw him '83, Milton Keynes, Serious Moonlight tour. Nothing special. Supported on the day by The Beat and Icehouse if I remember correctly.

Closest i ve come is owning his 72 santa monica double album ltd ed made in 2008. Was quite a stunning concert. Always like Bowie so sad to hear some of his concerts are crap. I see this record has been reissued so i will endorse it for fans as the ltd ed is pricey now

I have been to a few bowie live gigs over the years, recently bought a couple of albums from Bureau supply, which whilst are unofficial products are extremely well made and packaged.
The first run of albums Hurling Disdain vol 1 & 2 are excellent sound quality, the latter ones Standing by the wall don't cut it with me.
I collect Bowie vinyl anyway so they are in the collection. 100 albums 200 singles so far!
