This has been sitting idle (no pun intended!) in a holiday home and I am not getting any use out of it, hence the sale. It's a later model of the range I believe (1966-67?) and was in superb cosmetic condition when I bought it. It's still in the original plinth, which apart from some swirls on the cover is in surprisingly good nick.
The motor was stripped completely and serviced and is now running smoothly and silently, as is the bearing. I replaced the thrust pad with a new one, and also replaced the plastic idler with a brand new metal one from a chap on the Lenco forum who makes them. The original idler wheel will be included as well. The arm was completely stripped, degreased and reassembled with new bearings. The original metal headshell is included as is a Goldring G800 cartridge with an aftermarket stylus (nothing exotic).
I had intended to keep the original plinth and fill it with plaster or build a solid internal plinth but never had the time for this. These L70s aren't as common as the later models and have a more rigid top plate, it would be a pity to butcher it for parts or a PTP-type build.
Collection only from just off J11 on the M25. I'd like £220.
