I worked at a students union for a while and it was one of the big red brick institutions too, not a renamed polytechnic.

We had a female CEO.

On World Woman's Day, she organised a meeting to showcase all the things the SU had achieved for women that year.
About 120 people turned up, most of whom were - unsurprisingly - women, along with a handful of guys dragged along (one of whom was chairperson of FemSoc, or the Feminists' Society, but that's another story).

At the meeting she went through everything with a PowerPoint presentation and proudly declared that for the first time ever in the 150-year history of the university this was the first time ever that there were an equal number of males and females on the student council.
She couldn't leave it there though .. she actually said :

"It's great to finally achieve parity, but next year let's go one better !!"





Remind me again what the point of feminism is ??
