Missed My Music

After spending a few days away over the Christmas period I must admit I missed my music in my own house in my own room..

I am now back home and really enjoying my music again... I really missed it to be honest...;)

Maybe it's a bit sad but it's true.. :D

Thanks Adrian it really was lovely coming back to my own place and playing my toons again... Somehow the system sounds even better when you come back to it after a few days away from it.. ;)

Absence makes the heart grow fonder... We know our own systems intimately, we've lavished hours fretting over them, voicing them. And we hope, if we've done things right, that when the needle drops into the groove we are welcomed with a familiar embrace.

Know what you mean Bev, wish it was only a few days,
My system has been down for months due to amp re-cap and other diagnostic issues.
I feel like a walking toothache :(
Hopefully it will al be sorted soon then I'm back in the game.
Already have a few nice related 'treats' planned - too right :)

Robert, you not considered buying a cheap amp s/h just as a stop gap? I always have at least one spare power amp lying about for emergencies. Thing always fail just when you are really keen to listen to some music, Sod's Law.

I find a break can help reduce the impulse to 'upgrade', or delay it a bit at least. You make a change it is am improvement, you bask in it for a bit then you get used to it and start thinking about improving it again, a week's break or so and you forget, then when you go back to it, it sounds fantastic again.

The guy who rebuilt my amp also has my tonearm which he fitted new hybrid ceramic bearings to (not even heard that upgrade yet either)
He's offered me the use of another Sansui (D9) whilst my AU 919 is being sorted but I've always said no.
I'm a bit weird to be honest in so much as I just dont want to set up another amp or deck just for the sake of having some music.
The joy of my set up is exactly that, music out of it is just so right and enjoyable anything else feels like a compromise - I guess I've spoiled myself if you get my jist :mental: :)
