Drunken ebay offers.

Has anyone else had to suffer the period of uncertainty between placing a drunken best offer and having it accepted/declined?

Last night, after a few glasses of Jim Beam, I was browsing ebay for headphones, headphones that I can easily live without but wanted anyway. So I placed a best offer on a pair that I had never heard, simply because pretty much all the reviews on the net said they were worth having.

I now don't know whether to be disappointed or relieved if I don't buy them.

I do know for sure that I am too stupid to be drunk.

Ive done it before. You kinda hope someone will buy them or guy will refuse, but they seem to know you didnt want it really and accept :doh:

I just dont drink much..its easier all round on body, mind and purse. Next time your having a drink, switch off the wifi :)

Sounds very sensible, I don't usually drink much or often to be honest, but I think with it being near Xmas there is more alcohol in the house. Sometimes it's a nice feeling to be tipsy and sometimes I wonder why bother?

I got into a habit now of not buying anything first time i see it. I save it til next day, when i have slept on it and decided i do or dont want it. I used to be bad for just buying things, so i am reformed now.just as well too.:D

That's some good self control you have there, I tend not to want much but have terrible control when I want it.

When they had all the bother on eBay about accounts being hacked I had to change my password so decided not to bother on the grounds that it would save me money. Prior to that I would regularly browse and impulse bid whilst under the influence of alcohol.

Then I discovered that I could still buy as a guest, although that does limit me to buy it now items, which helps a bit.

I still have no defence against some of the goodies that get advertised here, though. Well, except for willpower, but as we all know that's little better than nothing.

For me buy it now is the worst kind of temptation, I have no patience for waiting for a listing to end.

Browsing the ads here is just as risky, luckily most things I'd be tempted by are out of my budget.
