Not knowing a lot about compliance and effective mass, my question is does 25 grams total mass for cartridge (9g) and headshell (16g) sound ok ? (no pun intended) :)

A lot will depend on which cartridge you intend to use.

I already have the cartridge - Ortofon Quintet Black and use it the the very light weight ADC LMG1 Magnesium headshell to good effect, which is a mere 7grams.

The reason for the thread is just curiosity really as I like the ADC headshell and just toying with the idea of trying another headshell in the future - maybe.

The QB's specs are:

Need to know the tonearm and its effective mass, including the headshell.
