More like stagnant drain fluid, or what's left with a second flush, after you've just shlepped a sizeable dump down the pan, which didn't fully shift after the first flush, leaving that brown BISTO-coloured water behind, with some little 'granules' floating in it......

That's yer Batts "Worcestershire sauce"! :D:eyebrows:

I didn't realise there was any alternative to Lea & Perrins.

It's a Lidl 'special', mate... And boggin, just like the Batts brown sauce and 'English Mustard'. One golden rule about Lidl and Aldi: never buy any food produce from there that isn't intrinsically German! ;)

I like it on omlettes. And bacon. And in tomato soup.

Marco

Liberally sprinkled on some toast and cheese, for me :)

With tomato soup it would be some fresh cream, drizzled on top, or basil oil. With Omlettes or bacon? Nooooo... I don't often eat Omlettes, but if I do, it'd just be a sprinkling of fresh parsley on top (depending on what kind of omlette it was).

Bacon? Nothing on it all, just nicely crisply grilled, preferably served with some fried or poached eggs, and then dip the bacon into the yellowy yolk of the egg! Or if in a sandwich, then *maybe* a touch of brown sauce on top.

Lee & Perrins Worcestershire sauce is also great in marinades

We use gallons of Lee & Perrins, costs a fortune. Would be good if we could buy it by the gallon or litre rather than the small bottles.

Nah. The correct topping for cheese on toast is black pepper.

Tabasco is an acceptable ethnic alternative.

Hence the sparingly bit .....
I love putting a couple of splashes in tinned Mackrel with tomato sauce, and having it on toast.

Works well as fake tan too. Gives you that Mediterranean look. Just don't go too close to anybody 'cos of the whiff. :D

Or the more polite version, 'ladies relish'....

Now, this is just the sort of useful information that I joined the forum for! I shall stick to heavy bread, cloudy lager, pork products and root vegetables in future.

Im not big on Gerry food or liquids tbh and because of that i rarely shop in lidl for foodstuffs. Aldi food is better for my preferences of the two.

Just seen a catering size bottle of Lea And Perrins. I almost bought it until I remembered that I've still never finished a normal size bottle yet. I settled for a normal size one instead. I get the urge for it and for a couple of weeks I can't get enough. Then I get tired of it and don't touch it for a year or two. Thanks to this thread "I'm back on the sauce"
