I've been totally happy with the sound of my set up for the last 6 months or so but I'm missing tinkering.
So, I'm hoping to have a bit of an experiment with different upgraded Rega weights (cheap, reversible and harmless thing to do), so, anybody got anything knocking around in their spares box to satisfy the need ?

Just after I posted that, I noticed you have an RB250. So, I need to check it fits on that arm.
Will let you know tomorrow.

OK, no worries Dave. The RB250 has a screw on counterweight, but I'm sure you know that :) .
Anybody got anything else, a low slung number perhaps ?
Thanks

Hi Rodger, if it fits the RB250, I'll still be buying it from Dave. Cheers

Fair enough. You will probably need a metal stub to replace the plastic one on the RB250. About £23 on ebay.

I thought I had a spare RB250 to check but I haven't. However, thinking about it, I don't believe the Tungsten weight will fit nicely on the threaded stub of the RB250 and that applies to any of the other after market counterweights. To fit anything other than a threaded counterweight you will need a Rega metal end stub, which I can supply.
I do have two of the Rega Tungsten counterweights, so no need to have fisticuffs..:donk:

Thanks Dave.
Best leave that then, as my plastic Rega stub is stuck solid in the arm

Far as I know, you won't be able to fit any 'funky' weight on the threaded stub, so you need to remove it. The ones I have tackled over the years have been easy enough. Just pad out the stub with some cloth and apply a Molegrip - gently and unscrew. There is no adhesive applied by Rega.
