Happy Christmas, daftee, but you're a wee bit early....

We're off today to get the tree from the local garden centre, and then we'll come home, have a nice lunch, then decorate the tree with vintage baubles and tinsel, and get the whole house looking nice and Christmassy.

Then afterwards, we're going round to my dad's place to make some Italian biscuits that are traditionally served in Tuscany at Christmas, called Befana:

Lovely vanilla-flavoured pastry, made into little Christmas tree shapes, stars and stuff, with a crunchy filling of almonds soaked in Italian rum and various other spirits, unique to Tuscany, which is traditionally served with Vin Santo (sweet dessert wine) - gorgeous!! :cool:

Feel very guilty this year. Normally Christmas starts two days before when I make the pies and pre-cook the meat. I made some mince pies at the weekend - TWO weeks early!! Ronnie and I have already scoffed most of them so...oh dear oh dear.... I'm going to have to make some more:eyebrows:
