The vast majority of owners, always power their AN-J's with tube amplification. I've enjoyed trying SET tube amplification through AN-J type speakers.

Has there been any good reports. Of AN-J's, working well with 80-200w solid state amplification?

Anyone here tried the latter?

I would have thought that class A maybe first watt or sugden would be the best SS option though others may disagree

For a while I used a pair of ANj's with a little quad 306 power amp, together with Audio Innovations L2 valve pre.

Sounded great.

in fact I still use those amps, but sold the Js and now have AN K's

I've tried the J's with Audio Note OTO, Tube Technology Unisis, Audio Innovations 500 and Croft Integrated.

Best results with the OTO, followed by TT Unisis, then AI 500 and last one the Croft.

Was the OTO the SE version?

Not heard one, but these have a reputation for a sweet sound. Could be nice.

Good price: http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/ASTINTREW-AT5000-dual-mono-High-End-Power-Amplifier-PRICE-DROP-/302151265591?hash=item46599e6d37:g:eyoAAOSw2xRYQpm k

I really think some sort of AN amp would probably be one of the best amps for the ANJ's

The Oto Mauro has is the SE and I'm pretty sure that would be a great match to the J's
