For sale: Harbeth P3ESR Special Edition speakers, with REL T9 sub-woofer and Atacama Nexus 7i speakers stands.

The Harbeth speakers are the 'special edition' versions with improved wiring, in the premium finish. I bought them 18 months ago, 'second-hand', but they were still factory-sealed and unopened by the original purchasor ... so, they were effectively brand new. Originally, I believe they retailed at around £1750. They are in immaculate condition with no marks, and all packaging, etc.

The REL T9 sub-woofer was bought second-hand to use with the Harbeths. It is an 'infinite baffle' (sealed) design, so is fast and punchy, making for an ideal match with the Harbeths. For those that haven't used a sub before, apart from 'filling in' the missing low frequencies, its biggest contribution is in enlarging and giving 'solidity' to the soundstage. Unlike many AV system subs, this blends seamlessly, and enhances the already impressive Harbeths to a surprising degree. Comes with long connector cable, so can be discretely hidden away if required. I have no packaging for this, and it is a weighty little blighter, so collect/meet only.

The speaker stands are 70cm high, to bring the speakers up to (seated) ear level, and were bought brand new by me. They are in matching white and in immaculate condition, with no marks, but no packaging.

I'd like to offer these initially as a 'matching set' at £1295 (collect or meet only) I live in the Midlands, which means I can meet up or deliver to a wide range of English/Welsh locations.

There is lots of information, and praise, for the Harbeths on the web. Probably the most useful info on the T9 can be found if you download the user manual. I have used this set-up in a couple of rooms (both relatively small, around 140-150 square feet), and found it easy to integrate the sub with the Harbeths. Essentially, with the REL in the system, you get all the benefits of the P3ESRs (detail, imaging, super-realistic mid-range), but significant improvements in terms of dynamics, impact and even bigger 3D soundstage. I don't listen to much 'heavy' bass music (dance, techno, whatever), but I was impressed at how the extra low frequency information enhanced all kinds of recordings in unexpected ways, right across the frequency range. Switch off the sub and it really is noticable how the realism is diminished.

Anyway, the total selling price of the new components here is over £2600, so I suppose this represents a half-price offer :D

I use a REL T7 with my Spendor s3/5r2, and am very pleased with the results. I therefore agree with your description of how well small BBC monitor style speakers work with a decent sub-woofer. In addition, I like that I can choose whether to power the sub-woofer up, so can add the extra umph as an when I want.
