This (http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Hitachi-HT-350-Turntable-Genuine-Original-Rubber-Platter-Mat-Only-In-V-G-C-/252657882464?hash=item3ad3955560:g:XmkAAOSwAuZX6pP S) looks like it would do whilst you wait for the real thing to come up.

yes there are lots about but nothing like mine :(
i might consider gluing mine down with pva adhesive,i tried double sided tape but it didnt hold the platter rom moving for long.
i dont know what its made off, some sort of plastic by the looks of it,if its put in hot water it becomes very pliable

I think it's going to be very difficult to find the right mat given it's a Japanese domestic market only tt. If gluing the thing doesn't work out, I've had great success using the SDS mat with big Japanese decks. I'm in a similar boat to you in that I have the original oil filled mat for my deck but mine is slightly warped so can't be used long term. I was able to test other mats against it and settled on the SDS mat with the Origin Live mat as a cover. I found the combination of the two mats indistinguishable from the original which was a very satisfactory result. Good luck in your search.

A certain well known owner of a PL71 has a Lenco mat on his. Sounds just fine to me ;)
