Teac X3 R2R gift advice

Morning* All

Bit of an unusual question, so please bear with me.

My brother has*recently acquired a*Teac X-3 tape deck and i'd like to buy him anything related for Christmas.
I don't know the first thing about reel to reels, so would really appreciate any advice on what I can buy him.

A coupe of blank tapes for starters and what about fancy looking spools or some nice pre-recorded tapes?

Any suggestions appreciated.

Some leader tape, splicing tape, hold down tape and a splicing block with blades

If you get him blank tape, you'll need to find out what tape type the machine is calibrated for.

Tape is not cheap either so as Ali said make sure you get the right type first.

Besides ATR & RTM there is no other new tape you can buy, RMG was sold to RTM in 2015 so that is all NOS.

The old teacs work very well with Maxell XLI but you can only buty that second hand from the likes of ebay which is where I got most of mine from and it has been very good tape.

From what is available new the RTM or RMG LPR35 would be the best bet

If it didnt come with the player you will also need 2 Nab Adapters for 10.5" spools https://www.thomann.de/gb/tascam_nabadapter.htm
