Speaker cable - which direction...

The title is a little misleading as I'm not talking about directionality but choice.

I'm stuck between two cables.

1. Audio Note Spx silver - why? Because my ANe's are wired internally with it and it seems logical to continue it through to the amplifiers. The extra clarity of silver would be welcome.

2. Townsend Isolda. By all accounts an extraordinary cable with a constant 8ohm impedance, RF blocking, solid flat core (I prefer to stranded like the Spx). Said to have exceptional clarity and bass.

Both come in at around the same price (I'm lucky - the monoblocks mean 1m lengths are enough, though the minimum Townsend is 2m).

My logical brain tells me to continue the Spx as that's what's connected to the actual drivers - so why add another metal type to the chain. But the Isolda is a beautifully constructed and engineered cable. And it goes down very deep in the bass - silver not quite so.

Any thoughts....

How do you know, have you actually tried both cables?
The Isolda does have a high capacitance for a speaker cable, with the method of construction. :)

From the reviews and hearing them a friend's system - though he has Devore's - similarish to my An-e's - and I'm relying on memory!

Whichever direction you take, why not buy used? That way someone else takes the loss from new and you can always get out of it unscathed.

To be honest second hand prices aren't much lower than new. And the isolda can be easily damaged if bent so I'd prefer to start with new if it's that one.
