Ok, I'm looking to upgrade my current (basic) Dual 504 turntable which is fitted with a AT440MLa cartridge. The rest of my system is an old A&R Cambridge Arcam Alpha integrated amplifier along with Audioplan Kontrast floor standing speakers which overall sounds great.

I like my music punchy and dynamic, I'm not sure which turntable would suit my needs as there's so much choice relating to turntables/cartridges/phono stages/tonearms etc....

I've about 550 vinyl albums and mainly listen to jazz - funk - vocal music.

I'm presently using the on-board phono stage in the Arcam Alpha integrated amplifier, but looking closely at a second hand Kinshaw Perception 2x box MM/MC phono stage.

My budget could stretch between £800 - £1000.

Any advice greatly appreciated. Thank you.

might do the job nicely. still likely to cost a fair bit more though. Good decks and arm alone is worth over 250

At that budget. What about a clean Technics SL-1200/1210 with an arm upgrade? Somebody on here may have something suitable. Techies are very popular with members. And it's one of the easiest decks to find parts for.

There's a pioneer pl-570 on eBay within your budget, fantastic condition.
