Hello, looking for a a pair of the old Ditton 120 the ones with the ABR, would also consider Ditton 10s if the price is sensible.

Thanks

You've missed a couple that sold on eBay last week... One set went for £50 which was a hell of a deal.
Great little speaker with lovely warm sound and the bass is just wow

Oh, I dunno. I paid £7 for a pair at a boot sale. :D

Guess that's a hell of a deal better than the listing price.... You must have felt like you stole them

I bought a pair over a year ago and just stored them away, checked them at sellers house only to see they were working, last week i pulled them out to have a change in my bedroom and was hit with some gorgeous sound. They're still there and I listen to them almost every night before I doze off..

But. back on track there is a pair of newer 120s (without the abr) on Gumtree, buyer's looking £40 https://www.gumtree.com/p/speakers/celestion-ditton-120/1194421826

Ah! My first pair of speakers starting way back in 2006!

Great little thing i have fond memories if the first pair i bought another in 2014 and realized they were not as good as i first thought...

I've had 3 or 4 pairs of Kef 104/2 and the first was clearly the best. They also had the later brass sockets. I think it depends on how they age particularly the crossovers. Not sure if lots of use or loud vs soft volume makes the caps deteriorate or if it's more a storage/temperature issue over the years. So if you buy a pair of speakers that aren't as good as you expected always consider upgrading the caps before moving them on.
