Not sure if I like the results but at least the hiss can be taken out with a notch filter if needed.
The Finial (IIRC) was a laser LP reader way back and it suffered hugely by not distinguishing dust etc for the music signal in the grooves. If the record was clinically clean, it sounded fantastic I recall from reports at the time...
