The most unenjoyable times is now when you let placement, this cable that cable, my cocks bigger than your cock get in the way..

Yep, but Andre, that's not what people are like here.

Personally, I've never had any long-lasting times with my hi-fi system or music where I've not found the experience enjoyable. Since I first got into 'proper' hi-fi in 1982, I loved the system I owned then, and every subsequent system since even more.

With the system I'm running now, and the way my taste in music has evolved massively since the gear I used back in the 80s, I'm happier than ever :)

Sometimes you can come across as a rather bitter, grumpy old sod! ;)

Well, I guess all hobbies need some kind of transaction one way or another...
Personally, I've no problems with that, I'm a rather "balanced" guy : no extremes. :)

Hi Alex,

However, I would be interested in learning how many of us truly are the "brow-beaten little weeds" (my description!) that allow our partners to dominate us to the degree where they would cram the Albert Hall with useless bits of furniture (implicitly against our wishes) and at the same time not respecting our interests or desires...

Trust me, mate, it's a very real phenomenon (not regarding the Albert Hall) but with the space in normal living rooms couples living together have to share.

You're just spoiled from posting here and interacting with other people like you in well-balanced relationships! ;)

Try reading some of the threads on other forums, and you'll regularly see some poor sod moaning about how "she won't let me have", speakers, racks, amps, or whatever... I mean who tells you what you can and can't have other than maybe your mother did when you were a kid??

One well-known guy, who used to post regularly on pfm, even used to refer to his wife openly as 'the nagger'. Now that is sad!

Anyway, let's not turn this into a 'WAF' thread. It's certainly though another 'classic' one in true AoS tradition! :eyebrows:

Indeed, let's not - it has nothing to do with hifi - the poor sods would suffer whatever their hobby or pastime. We'll just have to agree to disagree on the frequency of this occurring - which was my original point - and you've nicely backed me up by confirming that it is not something which greatly affects us on here! :eyebrows:

Nope, because we're all 'normal' in that respect - I of course am a total nutter in every other sense! :flasher:

Nait2 + Zu Essence = bass by the bucketful, as heard by me not internet rumour or magazine myth. The speakers' footprint is just 1 sq. foot so even the most harpish haraden would have difficulty in complaining about them, simply add a source of choice and you have a system that will satisfy both your audiophillic appetite and her decorous desires, sorted;).

Cheers

ps: once you've got her used to the speakers, then you can slot in a proper amp, like one of these,:).
