Up for sale as I fancy starting afresh. A beautifully built amp which looks and sounds excellent and weighs an absolute ton.

I bought this from awkwardbydesign back in May. I paid £475 collected for it so I'd like the same back.

There's no way I want to post this but if you really want to you can arrange your own courier at your own risk.
Here's the link to the sales thread on the WAM.

This has been converted to run as an intergrated or as a power amp with the use of a switch at the back.

Here's the write up from the ad on the wam.

I bought this to develop my Troels Gravesen Jenzen transmission line speakers, because it was what he used. http://www.troelsgravesen.dk/JungSon.htm I did the same as him and converted it to run as a power amp, but added a switch so it can be used as originally intended, that is an integrated with MM and MC phono stage. And it's pretty good! But I have several pre-amps, so I wanted to use it as a power amp too. I have also removed the input electrolytic caps and replaced them with polypropylenes. But flick the switch and it's back as an integrated. The only functional difference is that I removed the XLR sockets and replaced them with high quality RCAs. So it can't be run balanced.

It has performed flawlessly for the last year or two, it runs in class A; claimed 80W, but Troels had it calculated as 10W into 8 ohms, which is two more than my new Parasound Halo A21!

And that is why I am selling it; my wife says I'm not allowed to keep everything, otherwise I would! I mean, an integrated amp with MM and MC, over 100W/8 ohms and about 200W/4 ohms. The specs are somewhat conservative!

This is the SE version, with a polished aluminium front; it looks like chrome and makes the amp seem smaller, as it reflects the carpet in my room. The condition is as new, with the generic Jungson remote, which was hardly ever used.

As I don't have the original double boxes (but I do have the hard foam packing and cardboard corners), it will have be pickup only I'm afraid.

Hi Nathan,

Very nice amp, surprised it hasn't sold yet. Do you still have the Pioneer amp?

Hi Nigel! Long time no speak, got to be getting on for nearly a year! I think the last time we spoke was when I bought the SME 3009 from you in December?
I'm afraid I had to sell the pioneer after I bought the Jungson. I had to replenish the money back to pay off the wife :) anyway thanks for the kind words, hope your well, speak soon.

If it hadn't been modded I would have bought it. I miss the meters on my old Accuphase.

It is nice to see the meters bouncing I must admit Lawrence.
I didn't mention the back lights on the VU's can also be switched off if you'd prefer.

Just out of interest, when the amp is integrated mode do the meters work?

As I modified it I thought I would reply. The only thing that is lost is the balanced input, and the gains are the ability to use it as an integrated or power amp at the turn of a switch, plus slightly improved sound quality, due to the replacement of the electrolytic caps on the input of the power amp section with polypropylene caps. There no downsides to this.
I replaced it with a Parasound Halo A21, but spending £2600 has not given the huge improvement I hoped for. It IS better, but not that much better. In retrospect I would have been better off spending the money elsewhere. And if I could afford it I would have it back, as it has a kind of involving sound that the Parasound lacks, which is just an awesome tool that will power anything.

Thanks for your input Richard. I hope this will answer technical questions anyone may have

Thanks again Richard!

Appreciate the flexibility of using it as a power amp, which I've done before with several of my integrateds, but I have been looking into balanced dac/pres recently so the loss of that option is a biggie for me unf
