View Full Version : Is it just me, or does anybody else hate the new 'plastic' fivers?

I've had quite a few of the horrible things. They look too small, feel horrible and are slippery. When I put them around a wad of other notes, they 'ping' open every time I take the cash out of my pocket. They are a pain. I bet the slipperiness leads to people droping and losing these regularly.

The plastic tenners will be along before too long, then the twenties. It can only get worse.

Agree they are too small, but otherwise I think they are okay.

I think the owl and the pussy cat might have had a problem but I don't mind them and at least they survive a wash cycle :D

I like them and the size is very helpful to the partially sighted. Goodness how those with poor sight get on with American Dollars..:hmm:

They're OK, but need to get used to the new appearance.

You can play a vinyl record with the corner of one - quite loud if you use the rest of the note as a sound board.

Mono. You have to use a tenner to get stereo and they are not out yet.

It always feels like that when the banknotes change, then a year or so later you see an old one and it seems antiquated.

The plastic is going to take a little more getting used to maybe, especially until they have all changed, but after spending any time in Australia the money back here always seems very large and outdated...until you get used to it again in about half an hour.

New fivers? we've had for over year and now people moan about the old crumpled manky paper ones, me I don't care as long as I can spend them.
Apparently blind / partially sighted folk in the states fold different value notes in different ways so as to be able to tell what is what, AFAIK.
