A really gloomy damp start today. Chillier too. Expect frost tonight, more up North than here.
Bright sunshine here.. not been out but looks chilly at moment. If it stays clear it will get close to frost tonight.
Dull and a little gloomy here, and dry, but not cold. It's supposed to get much colder soon. Hey-ho, we're well prepared for it! :)

Had a trip to Yeovil this morning. Thick fog with temperature around 10c. Back here on the sunny south coast it's sunshine all the way and around 14c.
Lol... As ever (or mostly) here in sunny Wrexham it's cleared up and the cloudy gloom has been replaced with blue skies and patchy sunshine - still pleasantly mild, too!
The weather's funny here. Quite often it can start bad, but then progressively gets better as the day wears on, and around teatime it's mostly always dry and sunny, although at this time of year it'll probably be dark before 6pm :)

It's been very gloomy all day, with occasional light drizzle.
It'll be that London smog ;)

It's defo not crap here. Sun in all its glory. Very slight breeze. Not overly warm but very pleasant. :)
Pretty dull today, and lights needed indoors on north side of house. Bit of a cold damp breeze too
Yesterday was gorgeous Autumn day, and I was in work for all of it. Today I'm off work, and it is gloomy and heavily overcast.

The weather forcast looks charming I must say. Icy winds coming down from the Arctic bringing rain and freezing temperatures. Worse the further north and east you go.
Damp gloom and chill here at the moment. I believe there may be some sun later.
Quite a bit colder today, although sun is out at moment. Frost n ice away. Had car on charge overnight via my finished new charge box. All went well on a maintainence charge. Fedd the birds some mealy worms too.. back in now and hands are damn cold lol.
I predict that the nights will gradually get longer, with an increasing risk of frost.

Eighteen weeks to Spring Grant.
I dislike winter and will probably mark time until then.
Don't like Summer that much either. April and September are about right. The rest of the year either too hot or too cold .

Lol, yes a week in autumn is ok...:eyebrows: spring is usually a bit later here. Probably 4 weeks after london. Often still frost in May, and ive seen snow end of may. Depends on that pesky westerly current both westerlies i guess.
Still, it is what it is and nowt can be done bar moving, and thats not gonna happen lol. Nowhere to go

This is Autumn. Winter is December, January and February. Here Feb is always the worst for weather, but Jan is more depressing. Once you get into Feb it's almost spring.

Give me the West Country. I've been sitting on the tip of The Lizard gazing at the sea from the cliffs in jeans and T shirt in January. The temperature up in the sixties.
Agree. I've been sat in a beer garden in Devon at lunchtime, soaking up the rays, easily 70 degrees, got back up here a couple of hours later and stepped off the train to find it was snowing.

This is Scotland.. winter is longer here mate. Can be a lot longer.those few hundred miles makes a big difference

Sure. I was talking about 'official' winter. If your weather reports are anything to go by it seems to be bastard freezing there the whole year except for a handful of days when it is too hot :)
Lol, yes it gets parkie at times. According to the English govt:eyebrows: we are used to it and dont need any help with heating
The wind at times just rips through you, but its just bracing really lol. The guys who live all their lives on the northern shores and islands have my respect.

That's because they watched Braveheart where he has to spend the night outdoors on a mountain so he just pulls his kilt up over his head and beds down in the heather.

The weather, can't win with it. It's either too hot, too cold, too windy, too wet, too dry, too much snow etc. And now is the time of the year when the railways are likely to be affected by the falling leaves, which make the lines too slippery. Anyway it's pissing down here this morning and cold. Bloody miserable. :)
Lovely sunny day today BUT incredibly cold wind. Vicious it is

Bloody nippy this morning. Was 3C !
Getting warmer. Now 5C. Very bright & breezy. Nice day. :)
Yeah, its overcast but brightish here. Windy too. Looking out back window there are a number of spent fireworks lying about. Was like the Somme here last night with opposing sides shelling each other...my garden being no mans land:doh:

Identical to how it is here. We're going out later for lunch to a nice country pub, and have booked a table across from their (usual) roaring log fire, so we'll be nice and toasty!

Thanks, mate. We did - it was lovely... What really makes that place though is the vibe - so quaint both inside and out, and only 10 mins from Wrexham. Very pleasant on such a cold day, sitting next to a roaring log fire and sipping a pint of Cheshire Cat!
Marco,
Nice crisp sunny start here which promises to be a good day especially as I am out of shackles for a few days!

Cold n dry here with sunny shiny MacShine. Took my breath away being out there lifting that amp in with 1 hand. It needed to come in temp wise.
Car started first time though.
Gonna be a cold winter i think.

Seems strange that only a month ago I was going about in jeans and T shirt. Full winter clobber on the last few days.
Aye, even last week was quite nice. Snow is still on and roads etc are now covered. Ive got to take the boy to the docs in afternoon typically. if it keeps up he can cancel the appointment lol
Rained all night so expect a flooded drive to work. Yuk.

Soggy gloom here. Still, only eighteen weeks to Spring :).
Soggy gloom here.
Same here, but I don't mind it. Winter is what winter is... I enjoy the different seasons of the year, for the change to the landscape it brings. Diversity is good :)
I couldn't stand living in a country where the weather was essentially the same all the time. Bring on some snow now! :yay:
Marco.
Been some melting overnight. Good point is it gave me an excuse to put the fire on ;)
Lighting the wood burner now....
One of the things I love about winter, and when it's gloomy outside, is watching the glow from a log fire gently illuminating a darkened room, listening to the hypnotic sound of wood crackling, and the flickering of flames from candles, as their shadowy reflections dance around the ceiling, whilst looking out the window as the rain pours down, superficially making you shiver, but inside feel cosy and warm.
It's comforting and satisfying feeling that can't be replicated when living in the likes of Florida!
Marco.

Quality, mate. Get some chestnuts or marshmallows on the go!
Or... Heat up a nice comforting bowl of hot soup, stick some tunes on, cosy up in front of the fire, and wallow in the satisfying feeling it gives :)
Marco.
Just been out, gingerly i might add, to feed my feathered friends. They damn near took it out of my hand lol. Must be hungry
Got a special feeder for the little birds with seed in. The bigger thrush cant sit on it but sparrows and tits can. They get bullied out of the other stuff usually..
the mealworms and pink fat are the favorites and go fast. Seed and peanuts next. While the toughest ones get the fat balls. They protect their spot fiercely

The rain has stopped. Good job. I want to take the pooch for a long walk around the park and didn't fancy a soaking. At least it's not as bloody chilly as the last couple of days. It's a wellie day I reckon. The going will be soft! :)

Crap weather it certainly is at the moment. Gloom and steady rain varying from moderate to heavy. Looks like it's set for the day. Lovely!
Think I'll move to Madeira. It's nice all year round there. Trouble is, once Brexit kicks in, I'd probably be shipped back! :)
Started nice and sunny, but starting to darken rapidly alas. Coldish too

A little chilly, but bright and dry so far today. Best make the most of it I suppose, rain coming later and tomorrow.
Ha, was just about to post here!
Wet and cold. Very dull to point lights are needed. Fire going on in a few mins.
Bit milder today but I can't appreciate it as I have a cold so I'm freezing anyway. 13 degrees predicted for tomorrow, positively balmy.
I've noticed that if we can get through to the end of December without a prolonged cold snap the rest of the winter is reasonably mild. With the bad winters it gets cold at the start of November, gets silly in Jan and Feb and stays unseasonably nippy until mid-May.
Windy, cold anf showery today. Sun out most of time but you dont feel it due to the icy breeze. Was stormy overnight.
Bit blowy here too. Typical November day. Sun is trying to come through with limited success.

Dry and (coldish) here, with sunny spells. No sign of rain. Perfect for a nice walk through the local park, which I've just done! :)

The usual chilly gloom here. It's been raining since last night. It may buck up by April.
Still -3c here. Supposedly some cloud and then rain coming in afternoon. It better warm up or it will be snow or the likes. Fortunately i shoved the car onto a maintanence charge on Sat to keep battery warm and full. Knew it would be a while til i was up to using it again.
Glad i built the facility now lol

Lovely cold sunny crisp morning on the Clyde coast
Pishing down here in a MAJOR way - and has been all day! Dark, dreich and cold... Perfect day for just snuggling up in front of a roaring log fire, with a nice wee dram, which is what I'm doing now :)
Marco.
Dark now, frost never lifted. Deep in winter now doh.!!
18 hours of rain here. And heavy wind. Lakes were there was once road junctions, nearly needed a boat to get home from work.
Rain and strong winds arrived here now. ..well at least its warmer a little.;)

Been glorious here in the Outer Hebrides, been here since Saturday night and it's been sunny every day bar 2 short showers of rain :)
Just been down to the shops to stock up on beer and steaks. Sunny but proper cold, frost on the roof tiles.
