For Sale: Zyx R100 (0.24mv)

Hi Everyone

Please see for sale my Zyx R100 (0.24mv) cartridge. I am the second owner of this cartridge, having bought it earlier this year. Though I have no way of proving this, the cartridge was bought with around 35 hours on it and was new from Analogue Seduction in the spring of 2015.

Further to the 35 hours from the first owner, I've not put many on it myself having spent the spring and summer more interested in cycling and, as a result, have listened to very little music since the spring. I really should have sold this sooner.

Please feel free to PM me for more/ other pictures or to come and view the cartridge itself. The cartridge is in excellent condition, but has some minor scraping where it has been fitted into a head shell by the previous owner. In picture 4, if you look to the bottom right you may be able to see a slight change in the black surface. This is on both sides near the connections and is (to me) virtually unnoticeable, unless pointed out.

I am looking for £350 plus postage (TBC).

This is a very high quality cartridge. It's a little tricky to tell from the photos, but if it has the silver aluminium cantilever tube it is the regular R100. If it has the thinner dark grey Boron cantilever, it is the more expensive R100 H2. Both are desirable.

The box and the cartridge simply say R100 and that's all I've ever believed it to be.

Confusingly, the cantilever is a darkish grey graphite shade. Serial is R3638. I'll see if I can take a better picture (though not promising!)

My H2 was supplied new in a box that only says R100 as is my regular R100. Yours, I have to say does seem to look like the H2. A close up photo should clarify things.

If it's 0.24v it's the low output model

so not H version

Yes, but there's the 'H' version of both R100 MCs. Whether it's the '2' or not is not indicated. Only the cantilever gives that away.

Here are some more pictures, which are probably a bit better than my first effort.

It's definitely the 0.24mv R100 (H indicates the 0.48mv version). Whether it is the H2 version or not, I have to admit I'm unclear. I always thought it to be the plain R100!

I still can't say for sure. Either way. It's a great MC. The lower output version is just as usable as the 'H' by the way. The difference in output is 3db. Barely discernible.
