Anyone that knows me knows i have a fettish for Progressive bands with Female vocalists! Yes there are a lot..Being strickly pre '73 i do also have a post '73 fettish for a certain new age singer called Bjork! i've seen her live three times & think she is probably the best modern thing. especially her 'Post' (Excluding the 'o so quiet' tripe) & 'Homogenic' albums..So there you have it a confession.Afterall blokes are crap at singing.

I've never been able to get into Bjork (ooeeerrrrrr) but as you mentioned female prog rock I absolutely adore the early Renaissance stuff especially Prologue.

Scheherazade is the album that does it for me, Ms Haslam is still touring but only in the US it seems, have a look at her WEBSITE (http://www.anniehaslam.com/ah_concerts.html).

REM, I think all of their early stuff was exceptional. One of my alltime favourite albums ever is 'A Song For All Seasons' which quite a few Renaissance fans don't like.

A few years back I bought the album 'The Other Woman' with a different singer and also bought an Annie Haslam solo CD. I have to say that the Annie Haslam CD was the poorest of the two. Maybe she's just gone off a bit with age.

Looking back on the earlier Renaissance stuff though it's amazing to see the quality of guest musicians that appeared on their albums.
