I have a few vintage amps for sale and a tuner. Looking for sensible offers.

First is the nicest looking Rogers Cadet I have ever seen. Barely a mark on it and working nicely on one channel, the other is down in level, so I suspect a pre-amp valve needs replacing.

Next is a massive Pioneer SA8100 with more controls than you can shake a stick at. Works nicely with some controls slightly noisy and what I suspect is a dirty switch as the 'A' speaker connections do not work but the 'B' does.

Ferrograph S307 working well with a few slightly noisy pots, which would probably be OK after some use or a squirt of cleaner. The amp is a bit grubby and there are some scratches on the Walnut case but it does sound good.

Teac VRDS10 CD player. Built like a tank and with one of the most magnificent transports ever. Some scratches and digs and there is a problem in that the tray comes out and then back in again. So, it will need a bit of work but has the potential to be great.

Sony tuner ST 2950F in very good condition and original manual.

I hope to post some pics later but right now I can't get on the Photobucket.com website to download the pics.

If not sold, they will be on E-Bay Saturday. Meantime would appreciate sensible offers.

Well, it's a bit cosmetically challenged as the cabinet has been painted black and a carrying handle fitted to the side. I'm sure this could be sanded off and re-polished by someone with more skill and patience than me. Other than that and the switch mentioned, it's a nice amp.

I also have a 9100 tuner in beautiful condition and that's sounds excellent. One of the best ever made.

This particular F307 gave me a very sonically pleasant surprise. It sounded absolutely lovely (Andr'e loves 'em too I think). Front panel's clean and case not bashed about I remember. A huge surprise fed from a CD player into the Aux sockets. I suspect it would make the Electra 100 sound boring...

What ya got ?

It's a lovely sounding amp and built like the proverbial tank. It needs a good clean and polish but in really good nick.

Hooray, Photobucket is up and running again..:carrot:

This is the Ferrograph. As you can see, there is no damage to the metalwork, just some scratches to the Walnut case. It sounds really good as DSJR has confirmed.

Still waiting for sensible offers on a Ferrograph F307, Teac VRDS10, Pioneer SA8100 and the nicest Rogers Cadet I have seen.

Just try - you might be lucky.

The Pioneer works perfectly on Speaker B, but Speaker A has a slight short somewhere around the rotary switch as the protection cuts in and out ONLY on this setting. At least the thing has proper protection on it which works!!!

No idea with the TEAC. Its a wonderful thing and sounds nice too. The mech is well protected and there are at least two layers to remove to get at the mechanism. Must be something really silly here like a sticky micro-switch.

The Ferrograph turned out to be a favourite as I'd forgotten it always did sound nice. It's forty years since I last used one (we had amongst the last batch in at KJ, and I was bowled over by the then brand new Logic 7 tape machine I remember) and I liked it then. Maybe not very powerful, but so musical despite this.

What kind a money are you looking for the ferro and the pioneer dave?

Ferrograph, Pioneer and Teac now listed on E-Bay as no interest here.

Possibly because you didn't give any idea of how much you are looking for. I don't know if you're expecting offers around fifty quid or five hundred quid so I move on. I don't want to make an offer just to be told I'm having a laugh.

hifi_dave
29-10-2016, 13:09
Well, I am realistic, so I don't expect 500 but 50 for the Pioneer and Teac and perhaps a bit more for the Ferrograph would do it. 15 would get the Sony tuner. Plus shipping, of course.

The Rogers Cadet appears to go for 200 - 400 on E-bay, so that won't be available for 50.

Al,
Humble, grovelling apologies. I have seen your post now but someone beat you to it for the SA8100 and the F307.

Everything else is for sale - the Sony tuner and the Rogers Cadet. I also have a load of other stuff which I haven't got around to photographing yet, such as a Tandberg TCD 310 cassette deck, 2 x Quad 33, Thorens TD125, Tannoy IIILZ and other stuff I haven't yet unearthed.
