To anyone here who have owned both makes. Would you say that both sound similar?

For example, the Sugden A21a and the LFD Mistral.

They sound completely different.

I agree - different. Depends on the rest of your system to find which one works best for you.

My friend did a similar exercise with four amps, including those two, and went for the LFD. Very happy with it.

its rare to find someone who doesn't like LFD :)

I'm not that keen - but then Sugden amps don't do a lot for me either (if I had to pick would probably go for the LFD, speakers depending).
