I bought the parts for this last January and spent a few months getting it in the best co edition my budget would allow.

I've upgraded the wiring on the tonearm to KAD cables from the USA, replaced the interconnect with Klotz cable and then took it to Alan (Firebottle) to check it over.

The turntable holds speed accurately and is in good condition. I had to fit aftermarket feet because the originals were damaged in transit. They are included in the sale.

The tonearm is in good condition also. I had to drill through the headshell due to a screw shearing off when fitting a new cartridge. This has allowed me to use a greater range of carts so it actually worked out better.

The lid does have some marks on it but no cracks.

I am looking for £450 although I may consider a minor PX If you had a headshell and cart you wanted to negotiate with.

Collect only as i don't have any packaging.

Bargain!

I don't know what you will replace this with Oliver, but it'll have its work cut out to better it.

I bought a Sony PS-X75 which is pretty much my dream turntable. I don't know if it will be better but we'll see.

Fate may have done you a favour Oliver. The Sony is nice, but it is very complex and problems could be a nightmare to sort.

Ye I agree. I'm not too upset about it actually. I really am enjoying my current set up but it looked like a great opportunity but it wasn't to be.

Maybe a change of cartridge could cheer you up instead?

Go the whole hog mate :). A nice low output MC and decent suitable phono stage --- with SUT if need be. You'll thank me!

You'll get sound from an MM input. But you'll need to turn the wick up and the overall balance may sound odd with background noise. It won't do any harm though.

Yes, just gave it a quick try with the headphones on. Had it on 90% volume lol. Sounded ok but I'm sure it will be better when I get my hands on the head amp. I'm glad you said that though, I was wondering why it was working !!!!

Swapped the silver bolts to black ones and I am in love again. It's made a massive difference to the look. If it sounds as good as it now looks I'll be over the moon. The Acutex sounds great but looks shat.
