It's getting to be a habit. Spend a fortune building and sending a lander to Mars and have it pack up at the penultimate moment.

I'm still wondering why they bother. There's nothing on Mars that we could bring back in any quantity, even if humans got there. Not that they'd be able to carry enough fuel for a return take off to get back here.

Me neither but plenty of people have voluntered to go, even if it is a one-way trip.

Just looks like drill dust to me. Being an ex driller, its not unusual to see such things. The way its lit exc exaberates it a bit as well

I've watched the video and its a black object moving away from the drill bit. For all the world it looks like it scuttles, like a bug. I am not saying it is, it could be a stone moving due to the vibrations, but it looks odd. A lot of the Mars stuff is folks making shapes and shadows into what they would like it to be, faces, ruins etc pareidolia but that video.... well ummmm its odd.

Yes no question about that. I was round my neighbours and for a laugh I showed him a you tube bit about structures on the Moon. Big mistake. He was instantly fascinated and we spent the next 2 hours ( I left at this point, I suspect he continued) watching increasingly bizarre you tube videos about it. So I've pretty much seen them all. There are a couple (of those I followed up) that are intriguing and not yet disproved.
