Hi all,

I think I've got a handle on the essentials of adding an Origin Live Silver arm to my Technics.

My question that I'm hoping to get answered was what do I do with the earth wire that is connected to the pitch slider pcb?

Do I still need to earth the pitch slider, and if so where does it get wired to?

Can anyone please help?

Cheers,

Al

Yep, you need to earth it, because it's the chassis earth. When I installed my OL1 arm some 10 years ago I forgot to do this and the result was loud nasty pops from my speakers every time I handled the turntable.

For earthing it, I used one lead of a piece of cheap loudspeaker wire. You can solder a cable lug on both ends for a good and easy connection to both the chassis and the phono stage. In this manner you'll have two earth leads connected to your phono phono stage, one from the tonearm and one from the chassis.
