All very impressive, but it costs you the tax payer money for all the repairs to the vandalised seats etc that these people trash practising with there bikes and skateboards :bike:, but on a good note you lot have to pay me out of your council tax to fix them, valdalism is a big part of my work ;)

Another fantastic thing, made even better by the fact that people are walking straight past taking no notice. Make sure you watch the bit near the end where he does the White Stripes

He was the guy I saw at Glastonbury on one of the little stages dotted around the place - he was amazing! Within a few minutes he had a huge crowd watching transfixed... really good.

Concorde killed off by the French all because of one accident that was nothing to do with this plane . yes everyone was killed but it was a superb aeroplane, nothing wrong with it at all, had an awesome reliability record...

Here's the horrid clip, how horrifiying is that

Fantastic Things?

How about a big boy's toy? This application must be one of the most sophisticated uses of hydraulic engineering ever - The Forestry Timber Harvester
I've had tens of thousands of tonnes of timber felled and processed by these machines over the years & to watch a good operator using one is still a source of amazement to me.

XHL_U7Tj6Jk

Can you imagine what engineering goes into designing something to grab a 30 metre long lever, that weighs up to almost 2 tonnes (half of which weight is concentrated in the top third), sawing it off in less than 2 seconds, removing hundreds of branches and cutting it into millimetre perfect lengths as it is lowered to the ground in a controlled manner?
This machine does that to 2 trees in 49 seconds!
Incredible!

It is like something from War of the Worlds with its ruthless efficiency - amazing but just a little creepy... Maybe it's just me!

I know what you mean.
Those trees have been growing for longer than I've been on the planet & yet they're turned into a stack of logs & a pile of greenery in less time than it takes to plant a new one.

Still, the world needs wood, & those trees were planted in order to provide it.
