I need a tailstock complete with mounting plate for an Emco Unimat 3 or Unimat 4 lathe at a sane price.

One of these:

Dunno Al. 'Cos I'm awaiting delivery of a Unimat 3 lathe that comes without a tailstock.

I've spotted an aftermarket tailstock that I'm sure I could adapt to fit, but it would be nice the have an original part.

I already own the later Unimat 4 lathe and the tailstocks are interchangeable, but that's a bit of faffing about I don't want to keep repeating.

Thanks Grant. I've been looking too. One will turn up eventually. But I'll not be paying silly money.

I've noticed that lathes and parts are getting silly money in the last year or two. I sold my small Myford for £25 about 15 years ago. I'd get near a grand now.

Yes i missed the boat on them. I was going to get one as a mate was a top operator. I kept putting it off till they got so expensive as to not be viable. Then the workshop collapsed and that was all my gear ruined

Hmm. Looks like I got myself a bit of a bargain judging by this listing on eBay:

Paid a fair bit less than half of that for my (not quite as tidy cosmetically) Unimat 3 including getting the missing tailstock.

Yup. All decent quality machining gear is going silly pricewise (bit like Hi-Fi). Glad I've got what I need.

I've bought quite a few bits from RDG. They are always decent.

No motor on it though at the moment.

Same as the Unimat 3, but made in Asia and not Austria. Not quite as well finished, but OK enough.
