Just had to visit my local hardware shop and noticed they are already stocking up for Christmas. :doh:
FFS - we haven't even got through the nausea of Halloween or of Guy Fawkes night!

Shops have been putting on Christmas features for a while and the TV adverts for toys have been coming in thick and fast recently. Christmas is just a marketing exercise.

Mrs and her mum popped into a local pub ( Somerset), in September. They had Christmas decorations and tree up. loads of buff about their Christmas menu too.

Eh - when I were a lad, the Christmas tree was not moved from the garden and into the house to be decorated, until the beginning of December

we were 12 days before Christmas to 12 days after.

Not sure if it was that precise, but it was definitely in December. The decorations were taken down on Twelfth Night however.
Such is the way retail (and the commercial world) works, Barry! And no, I hate it, too :rolleyes:
