I work as a HIFI technician, and I am the webmaster of a French vintage CD players dedicated website.

I entered this forum googling for a vintage CD player's specs.

I own almost all the early players, which were all repaired during the last 10 years.

Thus, I am searching for any informations and documents about these players (commercials, magazine reviews...). As I wrote in my first post, I intend to share my experiences here (is anyone interested in old CD players :hmm: ).

Sorry for my English which is not perfect, but good enough I hope to understand each other. :)

Sadly I don't speak French so I can't translate your site for you....sorry. I love French as a language now, especially if its being sung...by say Mylene Farmer. I had several very bad French teachers at school so I dropped French :doh: that was a mistake I now regret.

I am sure there are many members here who can help you with your project.

My particular interest is Multi Bit players those that use the TDA1541 dac. Marantz CD85, CD 94 mk2, CD 7 etc and the AMR CD77. Nick (Beechwoods) is also a fan of older CD players too.

I do have a massive collection of old Hi-Fi mags so I may be able to provide you with reviews...what are you looking for ?

I see you like Prog rock (we seem to be taking over :eyebrows::)). Who do you like?

It'a good news that You own old HiFi mags. I recently caught many french reviews, but I would love to include English reviews from the same players.
It would be interesting (for me) to compare English and French Point of views and conclusions about early players. Of course, it would be a good thing for English visitors.

As for prog rock, I have been listening that music for many years. I own 2 thousands original CD's, mostly prog rock.

I could say that my favourites are swedish bands (anekdoten, anglagard..), or scandinavian bands in a general way (Fig leaf, gargamel, wobbler, anti depressive delivery...).But I also love more british pop prog like pineapple thief or porcupine tree...

I cannot forget Flower Kings, neal morse and so many others...

Do you listen to these bands?

:) I also love this period, of course.. KC, early Genesis and yes, wallenstein ..... but Progressive is not dead that's what I mean ;)
I must admit I love more SINCE 73 ;)

I don't worry ;)

I would if I used to listen to "poor modern music" (I don't know how you call this shit they try to sell us). That' my opinion too. :)
