I've been on sabbatical from hi-fi for the last year. Still do music but increasing deafness means headphones and other priorities means trying to reduce to clutter.

I have three carts that may be of interest to someone. Looking at eBay prices, some of the amounts being asked look a bit silly so I'm not sure what is realistic. I could say offers but that might be insulting - to me that is:eyebrows:

So:

Shure M75ED with original Shure stylus. No idea of the life it's had but it still sounds fine. £35 plus postage from France which I have yet to confirm but if we say £5 that should cover it. If it's less I will reduce it and if it's more I will absorb the increase.

ADC. Standard body with aftermarket QLM36 stylus. This has played fewer than 10 sides. £25 plus postage etc.

This one is a bit special. Technics EPC-205C2S. It has an aftermarket stylus. Sadly, only the £30 jobbie rather than a Jico but still sounds special. The problem is that someone - couldn't have been me of course - has been a bit overenthusiastic tightening the bolts and has cracked the top plate. Doesn't affect the sound at all and just need washers to make sure of spreading the load. I'm going to ask for offers on this one. Get a Jico stylus for it and a giant killer on the cheap. By cheap though, I don't mean Shure and ADC territory although I accept that the damage will reduce it's value. PM with the flood of offers!!

Thanks Geoff,

Apart from the ears, all is fine. Life meanders its merry way, it's just that hi-fi has necessarily taken a back seat.

Hi Brian,

Even the cars are taking a back seat as I try and finish the house. They are there though as we have a couple of big international meetings twice a year here in France. Serious competition ensues so the cars have to be very well prepared and to concours standards as half the points scored relate to the finish. Finishing the race is another matter but I live in hope.

We are thinking about moving out to the Hebrides when the house is saleable. How do I apply to be part of the Scottish mafia?:eyebrows:

What is the price on the last one, your post isn't very clear?

I asked for offers. Pristine examples go for anything between £120 and £150 on eBay. A Jico stylus can be up to $200 but they do one for $78!! This is damaged cosmetically but still sounds as it should.
