Had quite a change around this year, went from a full on SS system with Dynavector amps and Shahinian Obelisks after I sold everything as I was about to move to Oz. Unfortunately that fell through at the last minute so I've had to start again from scratch. Decided to try valves this time so after working through some Audio Note kit I've settled on a valve pre and power from Simon Shilton (SJS)

SJS 300b with KR Audio 300b tubes.
SJS 1.5 pre

Gustard U12 USB>Spdif converter
Mac Mini - running Roon core
Origin Live Resolution Mk3

Lovely, musical system! Those Js look perfect for the room.
I've had both the AN arm and an IQ3 in the past, and they are a real 'synergystic' match. I'd probably have an OL turntable too, if I wasn't still in love with my French lump :D
I've never heard SJS amps, but I know a few people with 'good ears' who really rate them most highly, especially the phonostage. Will that be your next upgrade to complete the system, Chris?

Always tempted by a bit of AN :) but buying that lot has wiped me out for time being, plans are to save up for an SJS phono stage that matches the power amp next year.

Yep Lexus, I'm not a great believer in cables so the silver has never appealed, I'm currently using £3 per metre speaker cable but if it was good enough for Kondo San it's good enough for me :)

It's a shockingly good amp and with the pre I'd say it's into Border Patrol territory but a tad smoother but to me more engaging.
