Hi Robbie. I've just had a look and the tonearm cable is an extra 7 grand. Ha, ha, ha. Taking the p**s is putting it mildly.

Of course it's horses for courses. No wonder people laugh at the so-called ''high-end'' audio.

It clearly states the tonearm is £20,000.00 and tonearm cable £7,000. That is, if my maths are correct, £27,000 for tonearm and cable. As I've said it's horses, etc., but that is a lot of dosh for a tonearm cable, hand-built or no.

Couldn't get the video to open, so can't tell if the arm is just an example of overpriced hi-fi exotica or not.

As it's most likely to be hand made, it will be expensive, but 7 grand does seem rather a lot to pay.

Not quite - it's 7 grand including the cable. Still a lot of dosh though.

This link give a better idea of what you're getting for your money: http://vertereacoustics.com/wp-content/uploads/2015/03/TAdocFile12ss.pdf

Have I misread it? Maybe I need stronger glasses! :)

My mistake - I didn't spot the "+" sign, but neither did I see the £20,000 figure either. Where is that stated?

Unless it's my computer or eyes playing tricks it appears in blue lettering as £20,000.00 for the tonearm.

Ah - I didn't think to click on 'Finance'!

No doubt a few billionairs from Hong Kong will buy one or two.

I came across it by accident reading up on tonearms and bearing upgrades (my tonearm has just been done).
It's shocking !! Nearly had heart attack. Wonder how many they've sold !

Yeah but if you earn £250,000+ a week like some footballers then it's bugger all ;-)

Who needs a cueing light, I'll get my servant to change the record and if he scratches it I'll take it out of his wages.

Actually that's not as daft as it sounds. You could employ someone to do that for less money than the cost of the tone arm!

At that price it ought to be! I can't imagine SME, Triplanar or Graham quaking in their boots though.
