Hello people,

Just a quick hello, I've had a browse here a couple of times and this seems like a nice friendly and very knowledgeable forum.

My passion for sounds started with in-car-audio. Now for about the last three years I've obsessed over AV setups which, really comprises off a middle of the road Yamaha AV amp. I'd really like to get a decent 2 channel rig, but that’s another story and a lottery win.

Anyway, I might not be able to contribute much, but I'm keen to learn and hoping to gain knowledge from this forum.

I'm Darran. I'm into horror/action movies and as for music, it varies, I like anything from Red hot chili peppers to Dire straits.

I'd really like to get some high end kit from the likes of Chord in the next few years as I really enjoy music. I'm yet to hear a high end 2 channel rig yet though, so I don't really know what I'm missing yet.....

Your route into hi-fi is unusual an unique to me. I've never heard of anyone getting into it via their car audio - you may just have a slant on things that none of us has ever considered.

Yes, I am a fan of the Yamaha receivers; I think they're very good, just not as good as I'd like them to be for music....
