A friend and I had an enjoyable few hours wandering around the listening rooms at the National Audio Show (https://www.chestergroup.org/nationalaudioshow/2016) today.

I was particularly impressed with the Teddy Pardo (http://www.teddypardo.com/) room. A nice affordable system producing very clean natural sound.

The TeddyDAC (http://www.teddypardo.com/dacs/teddydac.html) is now firmly on my wish list.

I was also impressed with the Stax headphones (http://www.stax.co.jp/Export/ExportProducts.html). Comfortable and lovely sound.

Agreed. I thought the show was disappointing overall, but Teddy's room, as always, was an oasis of common sense and excellent sound.

Come and say hello Al, I'm in the Long Dog Audio room, syndicate 10. :-)

I'm in the Long Dog Audio room

That was an interesting room too. It was good to hear Harbeths being driven by such lovely Long Dog kit. However, I found the set up a little distracting as the sound all seemed to be coming from the two corners of the room. I guess the problems with having to set up in a small hotel room.

The rooms are a cube, so you're on a hiding to nothing before you even start, hence to room treatment.

Anybody go? I live 25 minutes away from Whittlebury, and have been a regular for years. In the early days it was really pretty good, with most of the big brands making an effort. However, the last two years have been so poor, I decided it just isn't worth the entrance fee anymore. Sorry, I know we should support 'the industry', but if most of the industry can't be arsed to turn up, then neither can I.

You didn't miss much. Footfall was low and that was Saturday. Three national shows within five weeks of each other is not well planned. It's a joke up to what other countries can organise.
