Can anyone help identify this cable?

As some of you will have noticed I am having a big change and selling off some of my unused Hi Fi bits. Well at a time when I was buying Audionote silver interconnects I must have bought this cable, but cant for the life of me remember what its about. :scratch::scratch:

It has a label which reads

"Precious Metals Cable, Silver Tech Silver Signal, SS200"

Cant find anything on Google?

Can you good people help?

Sorry to put yet another post in the wrong section, but as a relative newcomer to this site I am really struggling with what goes where. I think its mainly to do with the cryptic nature of the titles of each section. I know its nice to be different from other sites but I never was any good at crosswords. :mental:

...wasn't too cryptic! You need to read the explanation given for what should be posted where, underneath the section to which it applies ;)

The reason why things were named as they are is because being 'The Art of Sound' forum, where we consider 'art' (along with science) as a big part of how good sound is created, all the rooms were named with that in mind, therefore having connotations with both 'art' and 'sound', hence 'The Artist's Palette', which derives from the 'artist' being the person building a system, and his or her 'palette', being the materials used to 'paint their picture' of what a good system should be - the 'materials' in this instance being cables, mains accessories, etc.

I did find that link but I'm not sure its the same company. If anything my cable is silver and here is a quote from the company you found "while our interconnects and signal wires use solid gold." No wonder they went bust.

IIRC Precious Metals was a UK company/person which made a small range of cables around 10 years ago. I'm struggling to recall the name of the chap who made them. They were reviewed in several magazines including HFN, at the time.

Of course, if the cable in question was made before 1990, it needs to go in Past Masters instead.

Good point, but not necessarily... As previously explained, there will always be 'grey areas' and times when subject matters crossover onto different (still relevant) parts of the forum.

In that respect, if the cable was produced before 1990, then theoretically it could go into Past Masters, but then the thread runs the risk of being lost in amongst all the non-cable discussions taking place there, so for that reason (and ease of future reference), it's probably best to lump all cable discussion into the 'Artists Palette'.

However, if someone posts a thread about some pre-1990 cables in Past Masters, then I'm not going to pull them up about it ;)
