On the lookout for something, don't know exactly what, with some watts and amps behind it.

Cool running would be nice for a change.

What you got?

Good question. Up to a couple of grand but ideally less. Even much much less if it does the job. Ugly is acceptable.:)

Suggest you consider the Nord power amps from iQ speakers. The dual mono comes in at £1409 and a pair of monoblocks would be £1559. They offer 400W into 8 ohms and being based on Hypex class D modules they will not run hot. Colin North is a fellow IPL speaker builder and I have listened to the Nord dual mono at his house. I thought that it was the best amplifier I have heard and when I sell enough speakers I will be buying some for myself! Don't be put off by any misgivings that you may have that Hypex produce a very accurate but "soulless" sound because Colin has overcome that issue. He uses OEM modules which support an OP amp which can be changed to suit individual preferences. Currently he offers Burson, Sparkos and Sonic Imagery OP amps. The case is made in Italy and while it not the nicest thing you have ever seen it certainly is not ugly and uses very good quality components. In view of the product and the price what's not to like?

I don't know if it would be powerful enough for you but I've got a Tag McLaren 2x100R that I'm not using. They are rated at 120WPC but typically around 150 and have good current capacity.
Mine has been fully serviced by a well known independent specialist and he also upgraded it with additional PSU smoothing.
I'd want £600 and we'd have to work out how to get it to you.
