Well guys i have been offered a pair of the and collecting them tomorrow but im again puzzled by the active connections how to i connect the to say my Musical Fidelity Amp or Yamaha CR 820 for instance i know they came with a system to connect them to that pre amplifier in the system but would love to give them a go for the price i can get them for...:eek::eyebrows:
They look so frickin cool...........but got to wait till 6pm tomorrow to get my hands on them :rolleyes:
They are active so should just need plugging in to a wall socket, connect to a pre-amp and you're off. Fancy speakers.

Never heard of that model. They look interesting. Not too sure about the styling though. Tell us what they sound like once you get them.
They remind me a bit of the speakers Tandy sold with the Linaeum 'ribbon' tweeter.

Yep will update so as possible will be tomorrow evening...
Im sat hear looking the tandy speakers = Genexxa/Optimus LX5 Pro now as i currently have a pair on ..Very good sounding units just to rub it in a bit....:eek:

I had a quick listen last night and have had them on all night to warm up as they haven't been used for sometime. The first noticeable thing is the bass :eek: but they do need a bigger room to breath but i think they will be very nice with some room tweaking / higher stands and a high power amplifier currently using a C320BEE i dont think their suited. Im off to work now so i will be back at 12 to have a play for the rest of the day...:lol:

and we are their.......put them where my sound stage is in the second system and they have become very sweet the treble is something to be desired but the bass is stonking though never tried active before and i can see why their is a market for them although they are rare i came across them with an ad title of 7 a phone call later and they were mine surprisingly one thing for sure is that they will be here for a long time now if got to sell a couple of bits to make room for them their quite bulky.....:) and very heavy...im not sure if their an Esprite series...i can across an ad on youtube to state that they are..?
They have motion-controlled bass units so not surprised the bass is good. Weight is probably down to the amplifiers inside. I think you dropped on there, Dan.

They probably use a degree of equalisation to bring lower bass forward (or move the rest backward, depending on how you look at it).

Christ, best hope Marco doesn't see that tip or he'll be breaking your balls about it...
They use motion controlled feedback so a little sensor lets the amp know where the bass unit is in the course of its excursions and adjusts for best performance. There are some Phillips models that do this also. And Tannoy used to make a sub with MCF but that was all years ago.

There are some Phillips models that do this also.
RH541 if I recall. Always wanted to get my mitts on a set. I have heard them, they pack a wallop!
