can anyone ID these JPW speakers

Look like one of the 'P' or 'AP' series with non-standard mid bass drivers.

Yeah, someone has replaced the mid/bass drivers with ones that don't quite fit.

I think that they are AP2s.

If you could measure them I'll measure mine and confirm. You can get replacement drivers at £144 a pair inc VAT from puresound (http://www.puresound.info/id2.html).

Worth doing as they are a bloody good small speaker when properly sorted.

They really are. The guy I bought mine from also sold Audio Note gear and they compared very well with Snells.

Those bass/mid. units look like something from a Car Accessories store.

They do, I'm sure I've seen them used elsewhere but can't remember where.

Yes, definitely Syktec.
I found Skytec drivers for sale at Electromarket.
The drivers used these JPW speakers are 8", I assume, so they are the
Skytec SPSL8.
£15.99 each.

Just measured them - they are approx. 24cm wide, 23 deep and 41 high.
