SKY HD problem

I have a installing software notice come up on screen (as attached pic), been through all the bull the two bit engineers give out over the phone at SKY but no joy..The notice is stuck on & wont come off, Sky want 65 quid to come out have a look (dream on)..I'm wondering if the hard drives sprung a problem! Anyone encountered this notice?

The box is the Samsung version the most reliable of em all aparently..

Yeh tried all that, nothing! Just taken it to bits, for some reason the HDD fan is disconnected not that this is the problem, looks like the Hard drive is a standard Seagate drive

1.5 years..Hamish..I'm gonna price an hard drive up i'm 95% sure it's that

you will probably find that you have more rights as the consumer than sky are letting on go here - http://www.consumerdirect.gov.uk/ ring the number at the top and ask for advice..

Virtually all HD on satellite boxes are standard HDs... ;)

Somethings arnt worth repairing too your talking 30-40 earth punds for that hardrive. I was told it will probably be thrown away & replaced & the chance of a Samsung replacement is anyones bet. I'm gonna buy a Humax box http://www.humaxdigital.com/global/

I've had nothing but trouble with various SKY recievers & now feel it's time to draw the line.I wouldnt mind but SKY as a reception is pathetic.

I can't blame you : I have a Topfield receiver, not a Canal+ one, for the same reasons. :)
