So Germany, then the Czech Republic are urging citizens to prepare, stock pile food and water for at least ten days. In fact the Czech government says ' prepare for the worst'. What Worst ? What other countries have said this ?

Now I know what some of the conspiracy folks are saying, but realistically why would our Governments be saying this ? Why has the UK government not said this ?... Yet.

What do folks think ? Discuss, and please folks be respectful, no flaming etc.

They will be asking us for help next :eyebrows: i think this was discussed a long time ago tbh, and maybe with both the attacks on them by Muslim terrorists, and the general sabre rattling from Russia they realise they are undercovered in thid department.
There has been some intel on possible bacterialogical attack plans by the terrorists too, so this may be atthe back of it being brought up again.

I have read these suggestions too Grant. A few other 'conspiracy' types are claiming that Sol's brown dwarf twin (if Sol has one ?) is returning + its small collection of orbiting bodies, others talk of a large rogue planet and its moons. I am no astronomer so I haven't a clue re what I have looked at regarding this, but surely if that was so 10 days of food and water wouldn't be adequate..... I do wonder though at all the hints re more planets being in our solar system being NASA preparing us for that revelation. By the way I am not saying I believe that, but I would be curious if any AOS member was an astronomer, has looked at the videos, photos and the official space agency material (being interpreted as showing such), what they think ?

Not heard of any bar the one that will come close in a year or so. Dont think it will hit us but if it did and landed it could make a bit of a mess...its not huge though. If there is a secret one i doubt they would be able to keep it quiet

Yes the one that will swing past between us and the moon, heard about that.

I haven't read anyone claim anything will hit us, just that the close approach will screw the planet up, and badly. This isn't according to these 'conspiracy types' an asteroid, but a very large planet, or a brown dwarf star. What I have seen, read suggests the sun is being effected now, and that both Venus and Mars orbits have moved downwards.

I think it would take a very knowledgeable astronomer to look at all this and comment, being familiar with the way cameras work too might be advantageous as lens flares might account for some of the photos, and video footage.

I stumbled across this about 8 months ago, and my first thoughts were, nut jobs, but as time has gone on some of the photos and video footage (assuming its not doctored) has made me wonder.

Sorry Jerry yes.

Of those I have come across I think Steve Olson (WSO) is the most credible re his sincerity, he could be a sincere person who is wrong though, but try his You Tube channel. His back ground is as a researcher, cyber security expert, retired USAF and held a Top Security SBI/SCI Clearance. Doesn't mean he is still sane, or not deluded though.

Some of the stuff he has said from time to time makes me think nut job, but the photos and videos do make me stop and wonder. The source for some images are live feeds from weather observatories, his own weather balloon launches, ISS video feed, NASA, and subscribers. A qualified overview would be useful, it makes me in equal measure go :mental: and :scratch:

And WSO ideas/interpretations of things in the photos regarding the sun are among the things that make me go :mental:. His view is that Sol (our sun) has been affected to the point that NASA and other world agencies have created a sun shield to protect us from Sol, which is no longer stable. Because the shield has reduced light levels in part they are using an artificial sun to compensate. Frankly this reads like a sci-fi disaster movie, and I think is crazy..... way beyond anything we could do or power, never mind how did we put it up there without folks seeing it etc.... but.... There are videos and photos of twin sunsets, two sun rises, an odd black dot in the middle of some sun images, pulsing, flickering from the sun that doesn't look right, and other stuff that to me makes me wonder if he isn't on to something but has got it wrong.

Someone go look who knows about this stuff.

Agreed except this is allegedly on an elliptical orbit from below the plane of our solar system, and the brown dwarf star is emitting infra red so isn't visible to our eyes, so I have read. By the way I am repeating what I have read, heard I am not saying its right. I am very sceptical, bordering on being incredulous, but..... some of the photos/videos are interesting and have made me wonder.

I am well aware folks will think Neil, you are mad if you give this any credence at all, and yet.... go look, and see.

To answer my own query, I've just watched the "Marshall Law" vid, which seems to contain a useful summary of his 'orbs'.

Well .... I think you need to look very carefully at lens and photographic effects when you take photos of the sun!

I am woefully unprepared for any natural or man-made disaster, but the survivalist types have been warning us that civilisation's about to go go tits-up for 20 years at least, so I'm banking on dumb luck seeing me through as usual.

We have no bottled water, almost no tinned food (from memory, one tin of tuna, two tins of rice pudding, and an ancient tin of pilchards that no-one will admit to buying), and five loo rolls. Plenty of wine (about 50 bottles), and one large bottle of San Miguel beer. In the freezer, fish fingers, veggie sausages, a quiche and a pizza, some ice cream and a Magnum, and frozen peas.

Yep; neck the wine, scoff the Magnum, chuck the tin of pilchards at the baying hordes of zombies. As for stray suns and planets invading the solar system (an extremely remote possibility), I don't suppose even having several gallons of water, your own leccy generator and a wall full of pump-action shotguns would be much help.

You're right, 50 bottles is nowhere near enough. Imagine if my wine merchant was unable to ship me the stuff because the nation's infrastructure had collapsed! It doesn't bear thinking about.

Del's veggie, verging on vegan, but our freezer's full of all sorts, including steaks, salmon, home-made pasta sauces and some batches of chilli con carne, she's just made, which is gorgeous!

There's probably enough food in our house right now, fresh or frozen, dried or tinned, to last us for at least a month - and plenty of booze, too! I think that I can top your 50 bottles of wine, being as we're not long back from France....

This end of the world is nigh stuff has been going on for thousands of years. I guess it might turn out to be true one day, but statistically it's unlikely to be today.

I see there was an unexpected close encounter with a very small asteroid yesterday, but even a direct hit would have had only local consequences.

In my opinion, from what I have seen on those fb videos, the 2nd sun theories are just crazy conspiracy paranoia based on zero credible evidence.

Having somewhat of a suvivalist frame of mind, I've had a few gallons of drinking water stashed away for twenty years or more. I keep dried and tinned foods. Not in huge quantities, but enough for a few weeks at least.

It's in large sealed polycarbonate bottles and kept in the dark, so as to not encourage algal activity. It's for emergencies, so will have to do. I did use some about four years ago when the water was shut off for a day or so. It was fine. :)

Must say I am thinking about it, have it done and if nothing happens fair enough, but if it does and you haven't, well its too late.

I would have thought only fit for washing in, not drinking or cooking.... shows what I know.... precious little regarding this sort of thing.

Looks to me like it's a general civil defense measure, possibly part of the propaganda war against Putin's Russia? - not aimed at any specific/imminent known threat.
