I've seen a few people speak positively about these vintage speakers on the forum, so I thought I'd offer them on here.

Vintage Mordaunt Short Pageant Series 2 Speakers:

In great working order - no damage or dings to drivers.
Punchy sound for a vintage speaker - decent weight to the sound for their size.
They have switches on the back of the crossover which adjust presence but to be honest, I couldn't hear an awful lot of difference.
Good cosmetic condition. There are a few scratches to the veneer. Since taking the pictures, I have just polished the cabinets up so they should comfortably look as good in the flesh than they do on the photos - hopefully better.
Grilles are in good, solid condition. The fabric has a sort of fluffy finish anyway but there are some small pulls here and there which don't really notice.

I would like £40 for a prompt collection please. This is about half what I have seen other people ask for them.

I also have some fairly solid 400mm stands available to go with them for an extra £20.

Happy to demo. Collection is from just outside Bicester (M40, J9).

yep i like them,in fact im tempted to get another pair :)
ive got loads of spare drivers for these,but im 1 tweeter short of making a pair of working speakers.

Someone, please buy these speakers and give them a good home. They are in good condition, have a more than acceptable sound quality, and for the asking price, are an absolute steal.

Go on - buy them for your second or third system. :)

I'm afraid not. It didn't end well last time I posted speakers despite what I thought was bomb proof packaging.

If you get them in big boxes well padded and with carry handles then use ups, they have a decent chance. Last ones i sent were in boxes i got in lidl. Spent a fair bit on packing and it worked. Heavier the thing the more llikely they will split if old. Also need 2 boxes.

I did all of that for a pair of Tannoys I posted and the buyer (not on here) still claimed they weren't working properly when they arrived. Then it costs you more to get them back than it is worth arguing over.

i dont care if they arrive damaged mate,i only want them for 1 tweeter,i have spare cabinets and 2 sets of bass drivers so have a think on posting please.i will pay extra for postage too.
i cant say fairer than that.

Use with mids turned up and tweeter switch down. Lovely old and very endearing speakers and I believe it was speakers like the Mission 700's at two thirds the price that replaced them as top sellers...

Yes Jamie, and thanks for the offer. I'm sorry if it seems lazy, but I just can't be bothered with the packaging, dragging them down a courier etc etc that would involve.
It would seem a waste of a perfectly decent pair of speakers anyway to have them broken up for spares.
I'll stick them on Gumtree and see if I can find a home locally for them.

If Jamie agrees I can come pick them up from you Geoff and post them to Jamie for the cost of postage and a little towards fuel and packing materials say £20... I'm in Birmingham and could take the drive down no problem
I'll pay for them and when you get them Jamie you can give me the money on PayPal or bank transfer.
