That's about the same amount of space my Tannoy Cheviot II speakers are in. That works fine too!

It was a lot of hard work, but well worth it, with the room treatment and balanced mains supply, the stereo effect is as good as listening with headphones

Yay ! Cannot beat near field monitoring, I bet the image is good with dual concentrics
Nice bit of room acoustic treatment there although it does look a bit like a padded cell.:)
I expect it helps the speakers out though in such a small room. I would do they same if it was wife friendly!;)
im in the same boat here with the ditton 66's,they sound very good but i think room treatment would benefit them.
as it happens ive just bought some of that egg box acoustic foam off gumtree to have a play, ive stuck some behind each speaker and that seems to have sharpened things up a bit.

Hi Alex.
Just popped your pic full size in your post. Hope you don't mind. It deserves to be seen. :) Great space.
If you took the hi-fi out you would just think the room treatment was part of the design. Pretty high WAF there. Did you just stick it where it would go or did you computer model?

I started by using a simulation program to give me an idea where to start and place the panels, but for the bass I just put them everywhere that has a corner, as they say in the pro recording industry, You cannot have too much bass trapping ...

I read this as "if the wife was friendly"...
@Blueflash, very well executed room treatment! It looks nice and cosy and im pretty sure it sounds good too!

What kind of panels are they, Mike? I have bigger room, but want to move my speakers closer to the sidewall.

The CD transport was a kit by Aune Audio in China. It was based on the late Phillips CD PRO LF mechanism. There were a few mods I had to do to make it play how I wanted it to and has rewarded me with many happy hours lamenting the mastering on some discs.
But another CD transport threw itself at me and I could not resist, I am weak, I admit it, but have not a single gram of repentance.

If you are anything like me with audio electronics, I like to see what is inside the box, so ...

It's all a matter of degree (And these are smaller than my lamented Klipschorns!)
Leak 3090s.

It doesn't really prove that they work more like they actually fit.

It doesn't really prove that they work more like they actually fit.wtf? I have a 9' X 7' treated room and my Zu's " work " fine. Treatment is the answer for most if they man up and get on and do it.
