My arm arrived today and is missing a few bits and bobs I need to talk/email to someone with a few questions. I will post some pictures of the bits I've received and then start with the questions . :D:D

It looks like I'm missing the anti-bias weight. Any idea how much your's weigh?

I'm also missing the mounting collar :( So, can you tell me the diameter of the mounting collar and additionally it's depth.

Finally, am I correct in thinking that the arm is held in place with several thread bolts that are in the tonearm collar? Do you use a allen key to tighten them up against the shaft of the tonearm?

I think that's enough questions for now. Many thanks guys. :)

Yeah, I can find all that out for you if Jamie hadn't done so already. I also have an SME 3009SII so can tell you if the bias weight is the same.

OK, here you go, the bias weight is turned from tool steel (not stainless or plated brass) and is 9.52mm (9.5mm) diameter by 10.04mm (10mm) long and weighs 5.1g. The collar is black anodised aluminium with a diameter of 57mm and height 12.35mm, the top edge has a 2.5mm 45 degree chamfer. The arm pillar is held by two socket head grub screws (M4 I think) at 120 degrees to each other. I'm pretty sure it mounts to the armboard as a Linn arm does with three bolts into blind holes in the collar. It's all very nicely made!

If you have access to a lathe and pillar drill then all this is doable but otherwise it isn't really a DIY job.

I wouldn't, wood isn't really suited to having all the threads required and by the time the hole for the arm pillar is drilled and the five tapped holes there just isn't a lot of material left. It probably can be done if the wood is extremely fine grained and dense but I still wouldn't.

I've checked and the collar mounting is the same geometry Linn use so 2 X M5 machine screws if my memory is correct.
