I hadn't heard this myself till just now and I do realise that many will find this lounge/lift music personified.... I like a bit of bossanova meself though;)
Emilio Santiago "Bossanova" is the album. It's musically pretty good if not exactly Getz/Gilberto... in Portuguese of course. And it seems those Brazilians are as good at sound recording as pubic topiary:D

What a recording:stalks: Definitely in the demo class... uncompressed, wide bandwidth and it sounds like valves must be present at least in the mics... it's warm, sumptuous and most un-digital sounding whilst full of detail, depth and transparency :)

Probably even better than any Norah Jones as far as being some very well recorded laid back jazzy stuff.

I love a bit of Latin, bossa, samba, latin jazz etc, old and new. Lift music, have not heard any music in a lift for years, apart from the singing lift in the southbank centre.

All those who love Brazilian music (and understand French and sometimes Portuguese) should have a look at this sadly departed forum: http://bossa-nova.forumactif.com/

That was fantastic. I have tears in my eyes when I think of all the good moments I shared with all these Bossa Nova lovers...

My little present for you:

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7QWzShM3fbo

That is the fantastic Caetano Veloso with great orchestra from (Globo?) television. Goosebumps for those who understand the language. And look at that extatic audience...

The guy with the guitar sitting on the other side of the stage is Gilberto Gil, ex-Brazilian Minister of Cultural Affairs, no less...
